Location: Alexandria-Monroe Public Library, 117 E Church St., Alexandria, IN 46001

Description: Terri Smith, Circulation Assistant and Local Historian at the Alexandria-Monroe Public Library, has put together a two-part history on the Alexandria-Monroe Public Library.

The initial session on the history of the Alexandria-Monroe Public Library (1896-1912) will cover:

• Highlights on the lives of former librarians, assistants, and custodians.

• What became of these library advocates.

• Local history events in which they were involved.

• Additional Alexandria history–not just library history.

Attendees of both sessions will receive a “library scrapbook” full of photos, articles, and interesting trivia about the area and the library!
