An Official Madison County Bicentennial Event

Tim Lanane, Chair of the Madison County Bicentennial steering committee announced that the Grand Finale of the Madison County Bicentennial year will occur Friday, November 10, 6:30 pm, at the Paramount Theatre. The event coincides with the actual 200 year anniversary of the date of creation of Madison County on November 10, 1823. The event is free and open to the public.

Musical performances by the Rock Bottom Boys and Austin Morgan, and a showing of a special documentary on the contributions of the black community to Madison County’s history, will highlight the event. Guest speakers include Madison County Historian Stephen Jackson, the mayors of Madison County’s three cities, and a representative of the Madison County Commissioner’s Office. Highlights of the bicentennial year will also be shown.

“We invite all Madison County residents to attend the Madison County Bicentennial Grand Finale as we reflect on the past 200 years and celebrate the future of our county. This is an opportunity to highlight this year’s many bicentennial activities, events and projects, and recognize the people and organizations that made the bicentennial possible”, Lanane said.
